What is
Historic Crail Ranch?

The unique log structures of the Historic Crail Ranch are some of the oldest original buildings in Big Sky, Montana.

Historic Crail Ranch preserves the story of the Augustus Franklin Crail family and their life in the Big Sky community in the early 1900's.

For more than 50 years, Crail Ranch was an active ranching operation with herds of cattle and wheat fields encompassing 960 acres in what is now the meadow area of Big Sky.

Two of the original ranch buildings have been preserved along with a collection of historic artifacts dating to the time that settlers first came up the Gallatin Valley to homestead in what is now Big Sky.

A visit to our living history site will give you an authentic view of life as a western pioneer and the splendor of the old west.
